In 1987, a group of community leaders came together for a common goal: they wanted to see live theatre presented at a reasonable cost in the Brazos Valley. This became 'Magination Station. They produced magical children's shows in a small building in downtown Bryan. During the 1993-1994 season, Randy Wilson came back to town, following a professional career both on and off-Broadway. He was hired as the Artistic Director, and his expertise in musical theatre led the organization to focus on Broadway musicals.
The Theatre Company found its new name and home in 1999, in what was then Manor East Mall, now the Tejas Center. For the next 23 years, Randy grew and transformed The Theatre Company into what it is today, a home for countless volunteers and artists with a reputation for producing professional-quality musicals at an affordable price. Randy unexpectedly passed away in November of 2016, during our final weekend of performances of Sweeney Todd. At that time Adrienne Dobson, a long-time performer and choreographer, was named Artistic Director. Her directorial debut in 2017 was TTC’s Fiddler on the Roof. Since then, The Theatre Company has continued to be a home to anyone in search of a place to create.
